As determined in the judicial process, both caused damage to the justice system and the people of Guatemala by trying to justify the origin of Q300 thousand in cash in order to divert the criminal process in favor of José Rubén Zamora Marroquín.

According to the investigation, Solórzano Foppa’s law firm drew up a private contract promising to buy and sell a work of art from which they tried to appear legal to Q240 thousand quetzales seized in the office of journalist José Rubén Zamora.

“On that occasion, the journalist Zamora Marroquín stated that the money was delivered by prestigious businessmen and they would appear before the judge. However, with this ruse it is intended to give legality to the seized money, ”explained Rafael Curruchiche, head of the FECI.
