The new headphones are a direct continuation of the series for the Elite 4 model and offer several improvements compared to them. Elite 5 come with 6mm drivers and six microphones where the external microphones are active all the time, and the internal microphones help the voice to be heard well even when there is wind outside. The headphones have an IP55 insulation standard against dust and splashes of water.
Jabra Elite 5 are equipped with a hybrid active noise filtering system. The ANC is powered by a Qualcomm QCC3050 and uses feedback microphones (feedback) in the inner part of the ear, and pre-microphones for the sound coming from the outside. Therefore, the ANC performance is less sensitive to the way the headphones are placed in the ear and it ensures more reliable noise cancellation in a wider range of frequencies. The Hearthrough button allows you to connect back to ambient noise at any time with the push of a button.
The duration of listening with the headphones when the ANC mode is on is 7 hours while the headphone case will give you another 21 hours of listening. A 10-minute charge will bring you another hour of listening thanks to the fast charging of the headphones. You can charge one headset while using the other headset.
Jabra has also teamed up with Spotify To offer users the feature Spotify Tap Playback. A long press on the headset and the last thing you listened to will start playing. If you haven’t listened to anything, Spotify will play you something new that you will like. The headphones also allow for a customized equalizer.
Each earphone weighs 5 grams and the case weighs 40 grams.
The headphones are sold with a one-year warranty, when the warranty against water and dust damage (for the headphones) can be extended to two years by registering in the Jabra app.
