Regarding the Jeju Air passenger plane accident that occurred at Muan International Airport on the 30th, Lee Jae-myeong, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, said, “It will be important to identify the cause and prepare countermeasures, but the most important thing now is to resolve the accident.”
Representative Lee said at the on-site Supreme Council meeting held at the Jeonnam Provincial Party in Mokpo, Jeollanam-do this morning, “A truly unfortunate tragedy occurred,” and added, “I pray for the soul of the many people who lost their lives in this disaster. “We also hope for quick healing for the injured,” he said.
He said, “I cannot help but feel truly sorry for the sadness of the victims’ families who lost their family members overnight,” and added, “I offer my deepest condolences.”
He said, “All of our people are crying together amid the wailing of the bereaved families that filled Muan Airport,” and “Our party will do everything it can, centering on the Air Disaster Response Committee.”
He went on to say, “We will actively cooperate with the central government, the Jeonnam Provincial Party, and Gwangju City,” and added, “We will do our best to ensure that the countermeasures committee stays on site and provides the specific help that the victims’ families need.”
