/ Jalal Hassan, the goalkeeper of the Iraqi national team, asked God to forgive the referee of the match between the Iraqi national team and its Jordanian counterpart, Ali Reda, because of the red card he showed to the striker Ayman Hussein, due to his celebration of the goal he scored against the Jordanian team.

Jalal Hassan said in his statements after the match, “The Iraqi team’s performance declined after the expulsion, which reduced the players’ concentration and Jordan scored two consecutive goals.”

Hassan added, “This is the state of football. Our team was below par in the first half, and the Jordanians dominated and came out ahead with a goal that came in stoppage time.”

Hassan continued, “In the second half, the Iraqi team’s performance improved and we were able to equalize the score and then score the lead goal.”

He pointed out that “Ayman Hussein’s undeserved expulsion changed the course of the match, and Jordan took advantage of our team’s decline to score two consecutive goals, deciding the match in their favour.”

He expressed his surprise at the referee’s expulsion of player Ayman Hussein, explaining that “he only did a normal celebration, expressing his joy, but the referee made a strange decision when he showed him the second yellow card,” calling on God to “forgive the referee for his unjust decision.”
