The leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami and Nagrik Manch have agreed to play a united role with the students to counter any conspiracy by accusing the fascists, the enemy of the people, of the people’s enemies to destroy peace and order in the country.
An exchange meeting of Jamaat-e-Islami and Nagrik Manch was held at the party office in Moghbazar on Sunday (August 18).

Shahid Ulya, Chairman of Desraksha Andolan Bangladesh Bir Muktijoddha M Sanwar Hossain, Chairman of Bangladesh Islamic Socialist Party Engineer Hafizur Rahman, Chairman of Green Party Raju Ahmad Khan, Secretary General Dr. Moshiur Rahman, Chairman of Bangladesh Muslim Samaj Md. Masud Hossain, Secretary General Dr. Md. Machum. Hossain, Secretary General of Patriotic Citizen Party Md. Altaf Hossain, Chairman of Bangladesh Janata Party Md. The meeting discussed the establishment of good governance in the country, law and order situation, execution of genocide and every killing in the past, protection of people of different religion, strengthening of economy, bringing back money smuggled abroad and prevailing situation in the country.
The meeting is said that the interim government achieved in the mass revolution of the students is working to fulfill the expectations of the people. This government should cooperate with the aim of establishing good governance and human rights in the country. The interim government should reflect the will of the people. To destroy the peace and order of the country, the fascists, the enemies of the people, continue to make various efforts. Students must play a united role to counter any conspiracy to destabilize the country.
The government has formed a committee to ascertain the exact figures of those killed in the student movement. Exemplary punishment should be provided through an impartial and fair trial for the murder of the victims as soon as possible.
Such a historical precedent must be set in the national life that in the future no nefarious group or group can behave in a fascist manner.
Bangladesh is a communally-harmonious country in the world. All must make strenuous efforts to protect those of different faiths from the sneak attacks of the fascism’s minions. Those involved in various misdemeanors, including attacks and setting fire to places of worship of different religions, should be identified and punished.
The previous government has destroyed every constitutional sector of the country in fifteen and a half years. They established a reign of plunder. Arrangements should be made to bring back money laundered from the country and initiatives should be taken to increase the pace of foreign remittances to strengthen the country’s economy.
