Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has commented that the Jamaat-Shibir terrorists killed the bug in the quota reform movement in the beginning, but later they came forward in a terrible way.

Later, the press secretary of the Prime Minister. Naemul Islam Khan briefed the press about the meeting.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that the Jamaat-Shibir terrorists were initially low-profile (Ghapti) in the anti-discrimination student movement demanding quota reform, but at one stage, they emerged terribly. Institutions that symbolize the success and development of the government, public service and where there is success, terrorists attack those institutions.

In this context, the Prime Minister said, Covid Hospital, Metro Rail, Expressway, Setu Bhavan, Disaster Management Bhavan and Data Center are all symbols of our development. These institutions serve the people and they are the real victims when the institutions are destroyed.

Regarding the deployment of the army, Sheikh Hasina said that the army members have shown maximum patience.

He said that according to the information available so far, 21 people from his party Awami League and its affiliated organizations have died in the recent conflict.

Highlighting the need to cooperate with those killed and injured in the conflict, regardless of party affiliation, he said that he is not interested in considering the party in cooperation.

Regarding the quota reform movement, the Prime Minister said that when the movement was at its peak, quota did not exist according to the Supreme Court’s verdict. What was the justification of their claim then?

Appreciating the deployment of the army and the imposition of curfew for the sake of peace and prosperity, Spain’s ambassador to Dhaka, Gabriel Sistaga, said that now everything is gradually improving. He understands the steps taken to ensure peace and progress.

The ambassador said he saw everything on television. But they could not understand due to language difference. He knows about subversive activities and conflicts from newspapers.

The Spanish Ambassador also informed the Prime Minister that he visited some vandalized places with Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud.

Describing the development of Bangladesh in the last 16 years as ‘very visible’, Gabriel Sistaga said, the development in the last 16 years is very real, anyone can verify it.

Appreciating the budget allocation in education, health and social security sectors in Bangladesh, the Spanish ambassador said that these allocations confirm the government’s sincerity in the welfare of the people. Many countries do not have such separate budget support for these sectors.
