New Delhi: The Congress says that Ghulam Nabi Azad’s argument regarding the reorganization of the Jammu and Kashmir Congress is wrong. The final decision on reorganization was taken after 4 discussions with Ghulam Nabi Azad. The Congress also stated that the person appointed as the state president was a person recommended by Ghulam Nabi Azad.

There was an explosion in the Jammu and Kashmir Congress protesting the reorganization of the Jammu and Kashmir Congress. Within hours of his appointment, Ghulam Nabi Azad resigned as chairman of two committees. A section had warned that if the high command did not understand the message of Ghulam Nabi Azad, there would be mass resignation.

The announcement of the High Command was released on the last day after the reorganization of the Jammu and Kashmir Congress. Ghulam Ahmed Mir has been replaced by Vikar Rasool Wani as the state president. Ghulam Nabi Azad was also given the duties of chairman of the campaign department and member of the political affairs committee. But Azad informed the high command that he could not take responsibility due to health reasons.

Former MLA Gulzar Ahmed Ghani also resigned from the coordination committee in support of Azad expressing dissatisfaction with the reorganization. The high command’s decision was a big setback for Azad, who is preparing to become the chief ministerial candidate when the elections are about to be held in Jammu and Kashmir. Ghulamnabi Azad is currently a member of the National Political Affairs Committee chaired by Sonia Gandhi. The Azad camp believes that the leadership is trying to confine it to Kashmir by giving it the same status in the reorganization.
