Jammu : Soon after reaching an agreement with the Congress on seat-sharing for the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections, the National Conference (NC) on Monday released its first list of 18 candidates. Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir will be held in three phases and the NC released a list of 18 candidates for the first phase. In a post on social media platform ‘X’, the party said that NC president Farooq Abdullah has approved the list. The party has fielded former MP from Anantnag Justice (retd) Hasnain Masoodi from Pampore and former MLA Mohammad Khalil Band from Pulwama.
Who got ticket from Rajpora and Shopian?
The National Conference has fielded Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Mir from Rajpora, Shaukat Hussain Ghani from Zainapora, Sheikh Mohammad Rafi from Shopian and former minister Sakina Itoo from DH Pora.
NC is contesting on 51 seats
Earlier, after long negotiations between the National Conference and the Congress, an agreement was reached on seat sharing. According to the seat-sharing formula, the National Conference will contest on 51 seats while the Congress will contest on 32 seats.

Apart from this, one seat each has been given to the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party. There will be a friendly contest on five seats. This announcement was made in a joint press conference held after a day-long discussion at the residence of National Conference President Farooq Abdullah.
