Former member of Dhaka College Chhatra League killed in terrorist attack in anti-quota movement. Sabuj Ali’s funeral was held at the Awami League central office premises on Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital.
Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader along with leaders and activists of central Awami League and various affiliated organizations participated in the funeral on Wednesday (July 16) afternoon. Besides, people from various professions participated in the funeral.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid floral tributes to Dhaka College Chhatra League member Sabuj at the end of the funeral. Central and metropolitan Awami League, Independence Medical Council and various organizations also paid tribute.
Nurunnabi, the elder brother of the deceased Sabuj attended the funeral and demanded justice for those involved in the murder. Later, Sabuj’s body was taken to Sadar Upazila of Nilphamari, his native area. Green’s body is said to be buried there. Earlier, at noon Sabuj’s funeral was held at the capital’s Shah Bagh on the initiative of the Chhatra League.
