Husband Kang Kyung-joon’s first statement in about 8 months since ‘affair suspicion’
Actress Jang Shin-young (40) recently announced that she will not divorce her husband Kang Kyung-joon (41), who has been embroiled in controversy over allegations of an affair, and will keep her family. However, she emphasized, “It is only for the sake of the children.”
Jang Shin-young said on Instagram on the 19th, “It’s been a while since I’ve said hello, but I feel bad about greeting you after such bad news.” She continued, “First of all, I’d like to apologize to everyone who cared for and loved my family for disappointing them. I also want to apologize to anyone who was harmed by this.”
He said, “I spent my days like a dark tunnel, not knowing how time passed by,” and “One day, I closed my eyes and felt so good about the peace and quiet I hadn’t felt in a long time. I wished time would stop forever.”
He continued, “But then, through the silence, my child called me, ‘Mom,’ and for a moment, I came to my senses,” and said, “I thought, I can’t just sit back and do nothing. I have to protect my children.”
Jang Shin-young said she had many conversations with her husband Kang Kyung-joon after the incident. She said, “(Kang Kyung-joon) blamed himself and reflected countless times,” and “He went through a painful time that is difficult to put into words, but we plan to live together as a family again, just for the sake of our children.”
He asked people to refrain from criticizing Kang Kyung-joon for the sake of the children. It is assumed that this stemmed from a mother’s concern that the children might be hurt if they heard the news. However, Jang Shin-young added that she was grateful to those who sent her comfort and support.
Previously, Kang Kyung-joon was sued for 50 million won in damages by Mr. A in December of last year. Mr. A claimed that Kang Kyung-joon committed adultery with his wife and caused the breakdown of their family.
Kang Kyung-joon, who had not revealed his position until then, effectively admitted to the suspicion of an extramarital affair when he accepted the claim during the first argument for the compensation lawsuit held on the 24th of last month, ending the lawsuit.
Kang Kyung-joon married fellow actress Jang Shin-young in 2018 after dating for five years. They have a son from Jang Shin-young’s first marriage and a second son from their relationship in 2019.
