Actress Jang Shin-young said, “Please refrain from excessive criticism” following allegations of an affair between her husband Kang Kyung-joon.
On the 19th, Jang Shin-young posted a long message on Instagram, saying, “It’s been a while since I’ve said hello, but I feel uneasy greeting you after hearing some bad news.” This is her first post in eight months since her last post in December of last year.
Jang Shin-young said, “First of all, I’m sorry for disappointing everyone who has loved and cared for my family. Before that, I would like to first apologize to those who have been harmed by this.” She continued, “I spent my days like a dark tunnel, not even knowing how time passed.”
Jang Shin-young said, “One day, as I was quietly closing my eyes, the silence and peace that had come to me after a long time was so good that I wished time would just stop forever. But then, through the silence, my child quietly called me, ‘Mom.’ In that moment, I came to my senses with the sound of my child’s voice.” She continued, “I thought, ‘I can’t just sit back and do nothing. I have to protect my children. My precious life still has a lot of time left, but I have to protect my children, who are more precious than that.’ Perhaps the children were the ones who had the hardest time. As a parent, I feel so sorry for hurting their hearts and making them experience things they didn’t have to.”
She said, “I’ve had many conversations with my husband, I’ve blamed myself and reflected countless times, and it’s been a painful time that’s hard to put into words, but we plan to live as a family again, only for the sake of our children.” She added, “I’m being careful, but I ask that you refrain from excessively criticizing my husband. I’m worried that our children might come into contact with it.”
He continued, “Many people have sent me words of comfort and support because of this incident. Those warm words have helped me get back on my feet. I hope to greet you with a smile next time with good news.”
Meanwhile, Jang Shin-young and Kang Kyung-joon met through the drama ‘Thorn Flower’ in 2013 and dated for 5 years before officially getting married in May 2018. They have a son from Jang Shin-young’s first marriage, and their second son was born in October 2019.
However, in early January of this year, news broke that Kang Kyung-joon had been accused of having an affair with a non-celebrity woman, Ms. A, and was sued for 50 million won in damages by her husband, Mr. B.
The Seoul Central District Court referred the case to mediation, but when Mr. B stated that he would not agree, it was transferred to the Seoul Family Court in April. At the first argument for the compensation claim lawsuit on the 24th of last month, Kang Kyung-joon’s legal representative stated that the lawsuit would be closed by accepting the other party’s claim.
Kang Kyung-joon stated through his legal representative, “I wanted to take legal action regarding the parts that were different from the facts or that needed to be explained, but I also thought that the misunderstandings and criticisms were also caused by my own lack of morality, and I concluded that it was my role to endure such facts as well.”
