Jannabi performed on stage at the ‘2024 Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival (hereafter referred to as ‘Pentaport’)’ held at Songdo Moonlight Festival Park in Yeonsu-gu, Incheon on the 4th.
‘Pentaport’ is a representative music festival that has maintained its reputation for 19 years since 2006. On the last day of ‘Pentaport’, Jannabi went on stage as the headliner and gave a perfect performance with a perfect development from the opening to the closing.
First, Jannabi opened the concert with “Beetle Power!” and then heated up the atmosphere by performing songs like “Confession Theater,” “Did We Love? Was It a Fate That Passed? The Not-So-Short Time We Spent Together Keeps Locking Up My Heart,” “Our Child,” “Surprise!”, “Hong Kong,” “Legend,” “Bad Dream,” “Boy Clay Pigeon,” “Whose Song Was It?”, and “The Hot Summer Night Has Gone and What’s Left Is Ugly,” among others.
In addition, Jannabi performed ‘For Lovers Who Hesitate’, ‘Together!’, ‘Dreamland and Starland’, ‘Colorful’, ‘Jungle’, ‘See Your Eyes’, and a new version of ‘Dreams, Books, Strength, and Walls’ as an encore stage, drawing a hot response from the audience.
In particular, Jannabi presented storytelling by placing songs from their third regular album, “Fantasyland,” which they usually don’t perform well on festival stages, throughout the concert. In addition, they added a unique arrangement to Jannabi’s signature repertoire, revealing a fresh and refreshing charm that is different from before.
The detailed directing that you would expect to see in a solo concert also stood out. The vintage effect screen reminiscent of an analog television, various typography, beach balls facing the audience, and other stage props combined with Jannabi’s music to make the show even more fun to watch.
The expressiveness of the two members was also top-notch. The charisma of vocalist Choi Jung-hoon, who instantly took over the stage and the audience, showed his presence as a headliner, and Kim Do-hyung’s dynamic yet delicate guitar playing also captured the audience’s attention.
Meanwhile, Jannabi, who successfully completed ‘Pentaport’, will continue to meet with fans by holding a solo concert ‘Fantastic Old Fashioned 2024: MOVIE STAR RISING’ at Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Seoul from August 31st to September 1st and September 7th to 8th, and at BEXCO Auditorium in Busan from September 14th to 15th.
