Tokyo: Japanese scientists have photographed a fish that swims at an unusual depth in the ocean. This became nature’s deepest fish observation ever.

A type of fish in the genus Pseudoliparis was filmed swimming 8,336 meters (27,349 ft). The fish was photographed using a special lander in the Izuogasawara Trench in southern Japan.

The previous deepest fish observation was in the Mariana Trench, south of the Pacific Ocean, at 8,178 meters.

A University of Western Australia deep-sea scientist observed 10 years ago that fish can be found at depths of 8,200m to 8,400m.
