The Japan carried out three death sentences. Local media announced this, citing sources from the Ministry of Justice. It is the first time in the country since December 2019 and it is the first time since Prime Minister Fumio Kishida is in office. The Ministry of Justice has not confirmed the news or the identities of the prisoners have been disclosed. Japan is one of the few industrialized countries where the death penalty still applies. In the country there are 100 inmates awaiting execution. The last ones were recorded in 2018 (15 of which 13 of the subway attack) and in 2019 (3). Normally the death penalty consists of hanging.
