Japanese ambassador to Cuba seeks butler

It is common for diplomatic offices in Cuba to publish job offers, but it draws attention when one appears requesting a butler. This was, precisely, one of the job offers from the Japanese Embassy in Cuba.

In addition to the office job offer, there is also this Butler position at the residence of the Japanese ambassador, whose functions would be: preparation and management of lunches, dinners, receptions and other events.

In addition, it will be in charge of the management and maintenance of the facilities, equipment and assets of the residence and the direction and supervision of the residence’s workers; Coordination with contractors and related departments.

Some requirements for the application are management skills, communication skills in Spanish and, preferably, in English or some Japanese, as well as guest service techniques.

Another position offered by the headquarters, specifically in the residence of the Japanese ambassador in the capital, is that of gardener, whose content would be the maintenance of the garden and cleaning of the residence.

You should know that foreign applicants must obtain the right to work in Cuba with permanent residence or another document.

For their part, Cuban citizens must have completed the period of Social Service to be eligible as applicants.

Applications will be received until October 31, 2023 with the delivery of a curriculum vitae (CV) with a photo to the Embassy via email: [email protected], and you must specify which of the mentioned positions you apply to. If you pass this phase, an interview will be arranged to validate your conditions for the position.
