Tokyo, February 1, 2024 (Xinhua) – The Japanese Space Agency announced today (Thursday) that the Japanese lunar probe once again entered sleep mode and stopped its activities with sunset, making solar power generation unavailable.

The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) said that the planned activities of the Intelligent Lunar Exploration Vehicle (SLIM), which made Japan the fifth country in the world to land on the moon, concluded on Wednesday.

On Monday, the lunar landing vehicle began its work after shutting down its operation due to the failure of the solar cells following its landing on the moon earlier.
