Tirupur: In order to improve the textile trade relationship with India, the Japanese Technical Committee will hold a consultation in Tirupur today.

The central government is taking various measures to improve the textile export trade of the country. As part of that, the Ministry of Textiles has set up the Japan Standardization Committee with the aim of improving trade relations with Japan.

The Textile Committee of India has entered into an agreement with a quality improvement organization in Japan. It is planned to improve trade relations through explaining to the textile manufacturer about the expectations of the Japanese traders.

Based on the statistics of the last financial year, the export trade of knitwear between India and Japan was only 335 crore rupees. Textile Committee of India has made special arrangements to strengthen knitwear export trade relationship with Japan.

Accordingly, the Japanese technical team is going to hold a consultation with the exporters in Tirupur today.

Officials of the Indian Textile Committee said, ‘A special consultation has been arranged to improve the export trade relationship between India and Japan. The Japanese delegation coming to Tirupur today will hold a meeting with the officials of Tirupur Exporters Association and Dye Mill Owners Association. Aspects such as textiles, production with environmental protection expected by Japanese traders are being discussed,’ he said.
