Chilean tennis player Nicols Jarry said goodbye to the US Open this Saturday (2) with a resounding defeat against Australian lex de Miaur in the third round of the Grand Slam.

De Minaur, whose father is Uruguayan and whose mother is Spanish, beat Jarry 6-1, 6-3, 6-2 in an hour and 45 minutes in New York.

The Sydney player, number 13 in the ATP ranking, is packed and will now face the winner of this Saturday’s duel between Russian Daniil Medvedev and Argentine Sebastin Bez.

Number 25 in the world, Jarry competed for the first time for a place in the round of 16 at Flushing Meadows after having briefly interrupted his season in the United States for the birth of his second child.

After two victories over Luca Van Assche and Alex Michelsen with the strength of his powerful serve, the tennis player from Santiago ran into one of the toughest opponents on his return this Saturday and managed to hit ‘only’ four actions.

Jarry, encouraged by a large group of Chilean fans, thus ended his best season in ‘majors’ tournaments, in which he also lost in the third round at Wimbledon to Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz and reached the round of 16 at Roland Garros.
