Good start for Jasmine Paolini who began the Olympic tennis tournament in Paris 2024 on the right foot. The Italian tennis player eliminated Romanian Ana Bogdan in two sets 7-5 6-3 and thus qualified for the second round. Paolini: “Feeling like I’ve found different courts”
“I knew she was dangerous and I knew it could be a tough match, but despite the start, I tried to stay there point by point telling myself that I needed to find solutions and maybe a chance would arise. It came and I’m happy I took advantage of it.” Smiling as always, Jasmine Paolini commented on her first-round victory in the Olympic tournament against Romanian Ana Bogdan. “I like playing indoors, I feel good, but today I needed a bit more time: the new balls were fast at the beginning and then they got puffy, and it wasn’t easy, but I’m happy with how I managed the match – she continued in her analysis – the court was a bit slippery but not like at Roland Garros. In my opinion, there was more clay in general but the Lenglen is among those that remained closest to Roland Garros. The feeling upon arrival was still that of having found slightly different courts.”
