AGI – The pilot is dead Jason Dupasquier, 19 years old, hospitalized yesterday in the Careggi hospital in Florence after the terrible motorcycle accident during qualifying for the Moto3 at the Mugello circuit. On Saturday he had been under observation for several hours before being operated on his chest in the middle of the night.
The announcement was made by his team, the Prustel GP on social media: “It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jason Dupasquier. We are devastated and right now all our thoughts go to Jason’s family. We will miss you so much and we will never forget you, Jason.”

The dynamics of the accident
Dupasquier crashed between Turn 9 and Turn 10 at Mugello: first he was hit by his own bike, now out of control, and then by two riders following him: probably by the Japanese Sasaki and certainly by the Spanish Alcoba.
The Swiss driver was immediately rescued on the track with doctors who tried to practice a drainage to stabilize his already very serious conditions. Dupasquier had arrived at the Florentine hospital in red code, with serious trauma to the head, chest and abdomen.
