The Jason Momoa is unrecognizable in the trailer for the film “A Minecraft Movie” that was released earlier today.
The trailer, set to the sounds of the Beatles’ “Magical Mystery Tour,” welcomes the best-selling video game of all time to the big screen.
The highly anticipated film “A Minecraft Movie” from Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures was filmed in New Zealand under the direction of Jared Hess and edited by James Thomas.
“Anything you can dream of here, you can build,” says Jack Black at the start of the trailer.
According to the official description, the film follows four unlikely heroes, “Garbage Man” Garrison (Momoa), Henry (Hansen), Natalie (Meyers), and Dawn (Brooks), as they struggle with everyday problems when they are suddenly pulled through a mysterious portal to the Overworld: a strange, cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination.
To return home, they must conquer this world (and protect it from the Piglins and Zombies, too), while embarking on a magical quest with an unexpected, special craftsman, Steve (Black).
Their adventure will challenge all five to be bold and reconnect with the traits that make each of them uniquely creative… the very skills needed in the real world as well.
This is a story written by Christopher Bowman and Hamble Palmer where creativity is not just fun but also the key to survival.
Starring Jason Momoa and Jack Black along with Emma Meyers, Danielle Brooks, Sebastian Eugene Hansen, and Jennifer Coolidge.
“A Minecraft Movie” is expected to hit theaters on April 4, 2025, according to Deadline.
