A novelty in “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?”: Günther Jauch breaks with tradition and grants a candidate joker grace.
Günther Jauch took part in “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” caused a surprise. In Monday evening’s broadcast he gave away an additional joker to the Mecklenburg candidate Nils Große.
The moderator obviously had a lot for his honest nature. “I downloaded this app, but I was always left with up to 500 euros,” explained Große, as he hesitated briefly at the 50-euro question, making the audience laugh.
Große used his first joker in the 300 euro round and soon afterwards his second joker. When a question about female lingerie was asked, the 33-year-old’s early exit seemed inevitable.
Where does a woman wear a bralette?
Large should answer the question of where a woman wears a bralette for 8,000 euros: below the waist, on the wrist, on the head or under the top? The candidate chose the telephone joker and wanted to call a friend. But she couldn’t be reached and the call only went to an English-language mailbox.
In this situation, Jauch showed unexpected compassion for the candidate and offered to call his father. “I would think it would be a great shame if your journey ended here,” said Jauch and, after using up his last joker, offered Große a call to his father as another joker.
“I’ve never done that before,” Jauch commented on his offer, “but I want him [Großes Vater] Just get to know each other.” Despite the unusual offer, Große’s father couldn’t contribute to the solution either. In the end, Große still chose the right answer: The bralette is a soft brassiere and is worn under the top.
Candidate can pocket 16,000 euros
For 16,000 euros, Jauch then asked the question: “Which band’s two most successful chart hits have a woman’s name in the title?” Große logged in Fettes Brot and answered the question correctly thanks to the hits “Emanuela” and “Bettina, please put something on.” However, the candidate failed at the next question because he couldn’t decide whether Cap and Capper or Bernard and Bianca were not conspecifics.
Jauch’s unusual gift of an additional joker still paid off for big players: the candidate left the game with 16,000 euros in his pocket.
The next show should also be exciting: RTL has announced extra-long surprise specials for Whit Sunday and Monday.
