Argentine President Javier Milei called Pedro Sánchez an unpresentable dictator
during a private visit to Madrid on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2026. Speaking at an event for Nueva Economía Fórum, Milei urged Spanish citizens to remove socialists from power in the upcoming general elections on Nov. 29.
The Real Casino Gran Círculo served as the backdrop for the 55-year-old libertarian leader’s attacks on the Spanish government. Located near the Puerta del Sol camp where far-left activists protest for public control of real estate prices, the venue hosted Milei as he labeled Sánchez a thief and corrupt
.
Milei linked the current Spanish administration to the socialism of the 21st century and the Kirchnerism that he claims caused misery and a lack of future in Argentina.
Milei Urges Voters to Oust Socialists by Nov. 29
During a press breakfast, Milei explicitly called on the Spanish public to kick the socialists out during the general elections scheduled for Nov. 29. He described this action as a debt of honor that citizens owe to their own blood.
He accused left-wing parties across Europe of being responsible for a brutal stagnation of the continent’s economy.

Javier Milei, President of Argentina
The Argentine president cited a spiral of inflation and housing shortages as evidence of Spain’s economic state. He stated that economic stagnation combined with migratory irresponsibility creates a path of decadence that will be very difficult to reverse.
Libertarian Leader Aligns With Vox and Isabel Díaz Ayuso
This trip marks Milei’s seventh visit to Spain since taking office in late 2023. He avoided meetings with Sánchez—stating he would not visit a thief delinquent for fear of being expoliated—and instead aligned himself with the Spanish right.
He confirmed his friendship with Santiago Abascal of Vox and Isabel Díaz Ayuso, the conservative president of the Community of Madrid from the Partido Popular (PP).
His private agenda in Madrid includes several key engagements:
- A meeting with President Isabel Díaz Ayuso.
- A lecture at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, where he mentioned his teacher, Economics professor Jesús Huerta de Soto.
- A gathering with Vox representatives at the Fundación Disenso, described as the think tank where the Spanish far-right develops its policies.
The president did not meet with King Felipe VI during this trip, citing agenda problems.
PSOE and Sánchez Respond With Irony
The Partido Socialista Obrero Español (PSOE) hung a massive banner on its headquarters that read, Hello, Milei. The leftists welcome you to Spain, the country that grows the most in Europe
.

Pedro Sánchez also posted a short video on X before Milei’s speech, declaring himself proud to be zurdo
(left-handed/leftist), reclaiming a term frequently used as a pejorative by the far-right.
In May 2024, during his first trip to Spain, Milei referred to Sánchez as scum and called the Prime Minister’s wife, Begoña Gómez, corrupt
. Those comments led to the Spanish ambassador in Buenos Aires being recalled for consultations and the eventual appointment of a new ambassador five months later.
I clearly am a friend of Santiago Abascal and I am a friend of Isabel Díaz Ayuso and I believe they have healthy and positive ideas to take Spain out of decadence. Javier
