Jax Taylor was afraid to leave the rehab facility where she had sought treatment for mental health issues earlier this year because of marital difficulties with her soon-to-be ex Brittany Cartwright.
While there, the 45-year-old The Valley star, who has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder, found comfort in the program’s structure.
“I got there, I fucking hated it and… then I loved it,” he said in a clip of himself and Cartwright Podcast When Reality Strikes posted on Instagram.
After getting used to the place, Taylor said he didn’t want to leave. ‘I was so sad to leave. I was crying, thinking, “I don’t want to go.”‘

“And I have to go back to filming my show and I know everyone is mad at me and they’re going to come at me and I was like, ‘I’m so scared, I’m so afraid,’ and it’s happening and I’m like, ‘I’ve dealt with this, but it’s scary,’” she said.
Elsewhere in the podcast, she opened up about her pending divorce from Cartwright, 35.
Her costar on The Valley filed for divorce on August 27, citing “irreconcilable differences.”

Jax continued: “It’s been a really, really tough week. Anyone who’s been through a divorce will understand how hard it is.”
The former Vanderpump Rules star said he enjoyed being in rehab. “I knew what I was doing. I was reading, I was in that world,” he explained, adding that once he got out he felt, “the world is going to hit me like a ton of bricks.”

Cartwright has requested primary legal and physical custody of the child, however she is open to visitation from her ex.
Additionally, the Kentucky native is seeking to block the court’s ability to award either of them spousal support.
He cited the date of their separation as January 24.

“A lot has happened between me and Jax,” Brittany said in the confessional. “We’ve been having problems all summer, but once the cameras stopped rolling, things just seemed to get worse and worse.
“So about six weeks ago I split up with Jax. I moved into an AirBnb with Cruz because Jax wouldn’t leave the house,” she said in the finale.

Brittany said Jax not leaving proved his selfishness. Brittany said she left with her three-year-old son Cruz because things at home were toxic. Brittany said Jax would show up hungover and be ‘as mean as a snake’ in the morning.
“I got to this point where I started noticing everything he did to me,” Brittany said. “It hit me like a ton of bricks.”
Brittany has said throughout their relationship that Jax cheated on her, disrespected her, and humiliated her.
“I’ve been through a lot of pain in this relationship,” Brittany said. “I can’t take it anymore.”
