New York: Dr. Jai Verma, former COVID-19 chief of New York City, has been fired from his position at SIGA Technologies after revelations of his involvement in dirty parties during the pandemic by taking drugs. The New York COVID guidelines created by Dr. Verma attracted the attention of the whole of America when Brooklyn Nets’ famous basketball player Kyrie Irving was banned from playing for refusing to take the vaccine.
Participated in rave parties during lockdown
Dr Verma, who previously served as New York’s senior health adviser during former Mayor de Blasio’s tenure, was reported to have claimed to have attended and hosted underground rave parties during the city’s strict lockdown. His statement was secretly recorded, in which he confessed his actions in front of a hidden camera.
SIGA Technologies removed him from his position
On September 23, SIGA Technologies released a statement confirming Dr Verma’s immediate termination. It said, “Per the terms of his employment agreement, Dr Verma’s service on the company’s board of directors also automatically terminated, effective immediately.” His statement came to light last week when podcaster Steven Crowder released clips of Dr Verma’s candid discussions in which he said, “I did all these weird things, like having sex.” He confessed to sneaking around because of his role managing the city’s COVID response.
What did Dr Verma confess
In a recorded conversation, Dr Verma talked about hosting a party in August 2020. Those who attended the party used a drug called MDMA. “So we rented a hotel… we all, you know, took molly and like eight or nine or eight to 10 of us were in a room and everyone had a lot of fun because everyone was very upset,” he said in the secret recorded conversation.
