This news just in! Rap icon Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, is facing a bombshell accusation. A woman, identified only as “Jane Doe,” has filed a lawsuit alleging she was raped by Carter and fellow music mogul Sean “diddy” Combs in 2000. She was just 13 years old at the time.Doe claims the assault happened after she was driven to an MTV Video Music Awards after-party following the ceremony at Radio City Music Hall. The lawsuit, originally filed in october against Combs alone, was amended to include Carter this past Sunday.
While Texas-based attorney Tony Buzbee, who represents Doe, has declined to comment, Carter vehemently denies the allegations, calling them “heinous.” He urged the accuser to file criminal charges, stating that “real justice” would be served that way.
This isn’t the only legal challenge Combs is facing. Federal prosecutors recently indicted him on racketeering, sex trafficking, and other serious offenses. He’s currently detained at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Centre after being denied bail three times. his trial is scheduled for May.
Adding another layer of complexity, legal representatives for Combs dismissed the sexual assault lawsuits against him as “shameless publicity stunts” designed to extort from celebrities. They maintain that “Mr.Combs has full confidence in the facts and the integrity of the judicial process. In court, the truth will prevail: that mr. Combs never sexually assaulted or trafficked anyone—man or woman, adult or minor.”
Before Carter was added to the lawsuit, Buzbee reportedly sent him a letter suggesting mediation to resolve the matter. Carter, in response, filed his own lawsuit against Buzbee and his legal team.
Doe’s suit details a harrowing evening beginning at the VMAs. Lacking a ticket, she reportedly approached limousine drivers hoping to gain entry. One driver allegedly told her he worked for Combs and suggested she could get into an after-party, instructing her to return to his car later that night after picking up Combs and Carter.
The driver allegedly took her to a luxurious white home with a U-shaped driveway.Upon arrival, she was told to sign a document, supposedly a nondisclosure agreement, before entering a party bustling with celebrities engaging in drug use.
Feeling disoriented after a drink offered to her, Doe claims she went to rest in a room where Combs and Carter entered shortly after. According to the lawsuit, Carter allegedly forced himself on her, holding her down and raping her while Combs and an unnamed female celebrity watched.
Combs is also accused of raping Doe later, with Carter and the woman looking on.
Doe claims she managed to resist being forced into oral sex on Combs, striking him in the neck, causing him to stop. She then left immediately, eventually calling her father from a gas station.
The lawsuit, filed under New York’s Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Act, seeks unspecified damages. Carter, deeply affected by the allegations, expressed his heartbreak for his family and emphasized the potential impact these accusations could have on his children.
