Jayalalitha’s death: Tamil Nadu govt orders inquiry into eight people including Sasikala

by time news

Arumuga Samy’s report set up to inquire into the death of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa was tabled in the Assembly yesterday. The 608-page report contains shocking information.

The Apollo Hospital, where Jayalalitha was receiving treatment, said that she died on December 5, 2016 at 11.30 pm. However, the Arumugasamy report has said based on the evidence that he died between 3 – 3.30 pm on the first day.

Hence, the question arises whether Jayalalithaa’s death announcement was deliberately delayed.

The report says that when Jayalalithaa fell ill and was admitted to the hospital, everything that happened thereafter was covered up by Sasikala.

Dr. Sameen Sharma, who came from America, had recommended Jayalalithaa to undergo heart surgery. Similarly, the Commission is questioning why doctors including Dr. Richard Peele recommended angio treatment to Jayalalitha’s last breath.

It is stated in the report that Jayalalithaa and Sasikala may have prevented it since there was no smooth relationship between Jayalalithaa and Sasikala since 2012.

Also, the AIIMS medical team did not provide proper treatment to Jayalalitha despite five visits to Apollo Hospital, the report said.

Following this, the commission recommended eight people including Sasikala, her relative Dr. KS Sivakumar, former health minister C. Vijayabaskar, health department secretary J. Radhakrishnan, former chief secretary Rama Mohan Rao and Apollo Hospital president Prathap Reddy to be investigated in connection with Jayalalithaa’s death.

Accepting it, the Tamil Nadu government has ordered to investigate them and take action.
