jpnn.comJAKARTA – Deputy General Chairperson of PKB Jazilul Fawaid proposed that the older brother of his party’s general chairman Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin, Abdul Halim Iskandar, run as a gubernatorial candidate for East Java (Jatim) 2024.
“Mr. Halim Iskandar in East Java,” said Jazilul at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta as quoted on Friday (26/7).
Gus Jazil, Jazilul Fawaid’s nickname, thinks that Abdul Halim is suitable to be the 2024 East Java gubernatorial candidate because he is the chairman of the PKB DPW for the same province.
He said the party machine immediately came to life when Abdul Halim was proposed by the party as a gubernatorial candidate in the province whose capital is Surabaya.
“This is just my personal opinion, because we need a figure who can immediately start the engine,” he continued.
He even said that the PKB machine was quite large in East Java because 30 percent of the green party’s power was concentrated there.
“Turbo engines, well, in East Java, it’s 30 percent,” said Gus Jazil.
The legislator from Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives even said that the PKB machine’s strength in nominating candidates would increase if it formed a coalition with the PDI Perjuangan in the 2024 East Java Pilkada.
