Canadian director and screenwriter Jean-Marc Vallée, known for the film ‘Dallas Buyers Club’ and for directing the first season of the TV series ‘Big Little Lies’, died of a heart attack in his cottage on the outskirts of Quebec City (Canada) at the age of 58.
Heart attack as the cause of death was confirmed by a family spokesperson to ‘People’. According to a report published by ‘Deadline’, Vallée did not drink alcohol and was known as a fitness fanatic, also practicing the Wim Hof method (involves exposing the body to freezing temperatures and achieving high oxygen levels through breathing techniques. ).
Deadline also reported that Vallée died on Christmas Day and a body was found the next morning, on Boxing Day. An autopsy will be ordered but police believe the director died of natural causes, his ex-wife, Chantal Cadieux, said in an interview with Canadian TV.
