He Olympic medalist is back home! The shooter Jean Pierre Brol returned to Guatemala with the bronze medal won in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

I am very happy to return to the country and I am very excited that everyone feels the same joy as me.said the shooter upon arriving at the hotel with his wife. As well as his hunting gun shooting companions, such as Juan Ramon Schaefferwho competed in the last Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
«Now we are seeing that when you put your will and enthusiasm, everything can be achieved. We are fulfilling what my father (Fernando) always dreamed of. The three brothers now have Pierre there giving that satisfaction to the country.»commented Enrique, the eldest of the Brol brothers.
«I have no words to express my gratitude. It has been a year in which I have prepared myself the best in my career, it was good in terms of sports, although it was difficult in terms of family. All the effort has paid off and there are no words to describe it.»said Jean Pierre, who confessed that getting to the grand final was very complicated because of the level of the shooters.
When recalling the final, he said he remembered what the final of the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games was like and a year later he was given the opportunity to fight to defend the medal.
«I am now seeing how significant the medal is for the people of Guatemala. It set a precedent for the whole family to see that goal as achievable. That night I think I only slept two hours because of the excitement.»he confessed Olympic medalist.
With the goal set on Los Angeles 2028
«I’m already thinking about Los Angeles 2028 to go for the gold medal. I hope to continue with the work plan that was made this year and great things can be achieved.»said the excited shooter, who has participated in two Olympic Games.
One of the most special moments for Jean Pierre was remembering his father, Fernando (RIP), who motivated him from a young age to practice Olympic trap shooting, as he did for many years. «I would thank my father and give him a big hug.»she said with tears in her eyes.
For the shooter, returning home has been one of the greatest satisfactions and although he says he does not consider himself a National herosays he hopes that shooting can have better conditions for training because it does not have its own field for the sport to grow in the country.
«What still has me very excited is the joy we gave to the Guatemalans. Seeing Guatemala among the best in Latin America and that we are in the medal table, I still can’t believe it.»he said very excitedly.
