According to the social media post of Canara Bank, ‘Canara Bank’s Video Life Certificate Service launched for pensioners, now you can submit your life certificate from the comfort of your home through a simple video call. Book your convenient time slot from 1 October 2024.’ It is worth mentioning that the Government of India introduced Aadhaar based digital life certificate, Jeevan Pramaan for senior citizens on November 10, 2014. After this, SBI took the initiative to create video life certificate.
How to get a video life certificate made
Pensioners can get Jeevan Pramaan Patra made from many places using their Aadhaar. They do not need to go to their bank branch. Public Service Center or Common Service Center and designated government offices are the main ones. If you want, you can also get such a certificate made through video call at home. Base is essential
The process of making Jeevan Pramaan at home is primarily Aadhaar based. Therefore, the digital life certificate submitted by the pensioner can be authenticated only if the pensioner’s account is linked to their Aadhaar number.

Who are currently living in the geographical area of India.
For whose pension account Aadhaar seeding has been done.
Whose life certificate has been submitted for the previous year.
Why is it necessary to submit Video Life Certificate?
The pensioner should use a smartphone/tablet/laptop/PC (with webcam and headphones) with stable internet connectivity for live interaction with the SBI official.
PAN card is mandatory.
There should be adequate lighting.
How to book a slot for a video call
According to the Pension Services website, follow simple steps to submit Jeevan Pramaan Patra through SBI video call.
Step 1: Visit the Pension Seva website and click on the ‘VideoLC’ link at the top.
Pension Seva Mobile App, click on the ‘Video Life Certificate’ button on the landing screen.
Step 2: Enter the account number in which the pension is credited and the captcha (not required for mobile app), tick the checkbox to authorize the bank to use Aadhaar data for VLC and click on the ‘Validate Account’ button.
Step 3: If eligible for VLC, OTP will be sent to the mobile number linked with Aadhaar. Enter the OTP. On successful verification, the pensioner will be asked to confirm the mandatory certificate (self-declared) by ticking the box.
Step 4: Submit all the mandatory certificates (self-declared) listed in the drop-down and click on the ‘Proceed’ button to be redirected to the VLC landing page. Allow the required permissions on the device
Step 5: If the ‘Schedule Call’ option is selected, an appointment needs to be taken by selecting a convenient date and time slot and then clicking on the Schedule button.
Step 6: The pensioner will be shared a confirmation for the selected appointment slot. An SMS and email will also be sent to the pensioner’s registered mobile number and email address respectively. Step 7: The pensioner can join the video call 5 minutes before the start of the scheduled date and time. The pensioner will have the option to reschedule as per his convenience.
Step 8: The pensioner has to wait until the bank official contacts him.
Step 9: After joining the video session, the pensioner has to read the verification code in the call.
Step 10: The pensioner will be asked to show his/her PAN card.
Step 11: After verification of PAN by the maker, the pensioner will be requested to hold the camera so that his/her face can be clearly captured by the bank official.
The pensioner will then reach the end of the session and will be shown a message that the information has been recorded. The pensioner will be informed about the status through SMS on their registered mobile number.
