Jennifer Love Hewitt Opens Up About Aging in Hollywood After Plastic Surgery Rumors

After facing accusations of undergoing plastic surgery following a filtered selfie posted on Instagram, Jennifer Love Hewitt is now speaking out about the challenges of aging in Hollywood.

In a recent interview with Michael Rosenbaum on his Inside of You podcast, the actress discussed the difficult scrutiny she faces as she gets older. “Aging in Hollywood is really hard,” she said. “It’s really hard because you can’t do anything right.”

The rumors about her appearance started when Hewitt shared a photo of her new haircut on Instagram with a filter. “A bunch of people were like, ‘Jennifer Love Hewitt is unrecognizable,'” she recalled. “And then another place was like, ‘She’s unrecognizable and so she’s gone to filters because she doesn’t want us to know how bad she actually looks now in her 40s. And I was like, ‘This is crazy right?'”

After receiving criticism for her filtered selfies, Hewitt attempted to make light of the situation by sharing more selfies with “over-the-top, crazy” filters, but it only made matters worse. “I realized, I was like, ‘I can do no right,'” she said.

Despite the negativity, Hewitt maintained that “the majority of people” have been “very kind” to her throughout her career. However, she emphasized that it’s hard to ignore the naysayers. “To pretend that we don’t is a lie,” she said.

The actress also reflected on the impact of shallow insults on women, especially on social media. “It’s dangerous, I think, to say to women, ‘You can’t look like you’re not 22 to me anymore because I don’t know how to take that,'” she said.

Hewitt, who is now 44 years old, emphasized that she feels more comfortable in her skin today than she did as a young actress. “At 23, 24, 25, I didn’t feel self-confident,” she said. “I felt watched. I felt like I had to be everything for everybody all the time…”

Despite the challenges, Hewitt remains resilient and self-assured. “That girl was so insecure and so confused and trying her best,” she said. “And the latter seems to remain true today.”

The actress’s candid remarks shed light on the pressure faced by women in Hollywood and the impact of online criticism on self-image. As she continues to navigate her career, Hewitt’s openness serves as a reminder of the importance of self-acceptance and empowerment in the entertainment industry.
