Jeollanam-do has started preparations to successfully host the 2025 National Sports Festival for Everyday Life. Jeollanam-do has started preparations to successfully host the 2025 National Sports Festival for Everyday Life in which 20,000 sports enthusiasts from all over the country will participate.

The 2025 National Sports Festival for All, hosted by the Korea Sports Council and organized by South Jeolla Province and South Jeolla Provincial Sports Council, will be held in South Jeolla Province from April 24 to 27, 2025.

As of the 2024 competition, a total of 20,000 players and officials will participate in five categories: 12 and under, 15 and under, 18 and under, university, and general. Players from 17 cities and provinces will compete in a total of 41 events, including ground golf, swimming, and wrestling.

Based on the experience of successfully hosting the National (Disabled) Sports Festival last year and the National Youth (Disabled Students) Sports Festival this year, Jeollanam-do plans to prepare thoroughly for this competition and make it a grand finale to the three-year national comprehensive sports competition.

The opening and closing ceremonies, which signal the beginning and end of the festival, will be organized as events that can be enjoyed by everyone, not just amateur sports enthusiasts, and will serve as a momentum for revitalizing amateur sports in Jeonnam.

To this end, we plan to complete an on-site inspection of the stadium assignment and renovation by the 30th. The goal is to perfectly prepare the stadium facilities, which are the foundation for a successful event, so that athletes and spectators can enjoy the game safely and comfortably.

D-DAY markers were installed at Mokpo Stadium, Jeonnam Provincial Office, etc. to promote the event to residents in advance. In the future, the event atmosphere will be heightened through staged and customized promotions such as operating a website, advertising on electronic boards at major stations, and installing flower towers.

South Jeolla Province plans to finalize a comprehensive business plan covering all areas, including safety, tourism and culture, accommodation and food, transportation and parking, and medical and emergency services, by September and submit it to the Korea Sports Council.

Former South Jeolla Province Tourism and Sports Bureau Director Joo Soon-sun said, “Based on our experience at the Sports Festival over the past two years, we will definitely hold the 2025 National Sports Festival successfully,” adding, “We will prepare it to be a perfect competition that will increase the pride of the province’s residents.”

The National Youth (Students with Disabilities) Sports Festival, held in Jeonnam for the first time in 15 years in May, was evaluated as the best sports festival ever for youth, and was held on the largest scale ever with approximately 22,000 athletes participating.
