Yeongam International Circuit will be operated as a leisure theme park during the summer. Jeollanam-do announced that it will operate a summer package, including a water playground for children, starting on the 20th for tourists visiting Yeongam International Circuit during the summer vacation season.

The water playground is shallow, less than 30cm deep, making it a safe water playground for children to use. To ensure safe and clean water play, water will be changed and water quality will be tested every week, and safety personnel will be stationed at all times.

The target audience is infants and children aged 3 to 12. Customers using the leisure cart and VR virtual experience center package can use it for free.

The operating period is from 10:00 to 17:00 (excluding lunch time) every Saturday and Sunday until August 25th. During the peak season from the 29th to August 9th (excluding regular holidays every Tuesday), it is also open during the week, and is closed in case of rain.

Along with the opening of the foot pedal playground, Jeonnam Province is operating a leisure theme park at the international automobile racing track. Among them, the kart track is a space where children and adults can experience exciting speeds by creating a scaled-down F1 circuit. If you obtain a license, you can enjoy racing karts, and those without a license can experience leisure karts and bikes.

The VR virtual experience center has a space where you can enjoy virtual racing, and you can experience thrilling motorsports by enjoying six types of simulator car racing equipment, including a simulator motion experience video theater.

In addition to this, it also offers auxiliary facilities that will catch the attention of families, such as an auto camping site, net adventure, zip wire, and bicycle path.

Last year, a total of 128,000 people visited Yeongam International Circuit. Of those, 25,000 used the ancillary facilities, including the kart track. It is emerging as a pleasant healing spot not only for motorsports enthusiasts but also for families, and it is expected that more tourists will visit in the future.

Seo Soon-cheol, former South Jeolla Province’s director of corporate cities, said, “We have prepared convenient facilities and deployed safety personnel to ensure that tourists visiting Yeongam International Circuit can enjoy themselves safely,” adding, “We hope that many residents will enjoy the summer vacation season with their families.”
