Actress Jeon Jong-seo said the school violence controversy was not true.

At the production conference for the TVING original series ‘Empress Woo’ (written by Lee Byung-hak/directed by Jung Se-kyo) held at CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall in Hangang-daero, Yongsan-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 27th, Jeon Jong-seo was asked about the school violence controversy she was embroiled in last April.

In response, Jeon Jong-seo said, “As for the content of your question, it is not true at all, as we stated in our position through the company. If it were true, I would not be able to confidently stand here and showcase my work in front of the public and reporters.” She added, “I regret being caught up in something like that, and I will make sure that those who were hurt by it are healed through really good activities. I am trying hard to sort this out well.”

Last April, an online community posted a post claiming that actress Jeon Jong-seo was a perpetrator of school violence. The writer of the post said, “(Jeon Jong-seo) stole or took away children’s gym clothes and school uniforms, and cursed at them when they weren’t given them,” and “I once got cursed at for not giving them my gym clothes, and she even chased me to the bathroom and kicked the door.” The post quickly spread online, and the controversy grew.

In relation to this, Jeon Jong-seo’s agency Andmark released an official statement at the time, saying, “We have become aware of the false facts and rumors regarding Jeon Jong-seo that have been spreading through online communities and SNS.” They continued, “After seeing the post on the community, we closely checked the facts with the actress and people around her, and confirmed that the claims in the post are completely untrue.” They added, “We plan to respond strongly to the spread of false facts.”

Afterwards, rumors arose that Jeon Jong-seo’s side was deleting posts related to Jeon Jong-seo’s school violence allegations that were posted on online communities, but Andmark strongly denied this and said it was not true.

Meanwhile, ‘Queen Woo’ is a chase action historical drama about Queen Woo, who becomes the target of five tribes seeking to seize power and princes who are vying for the throne after the sudden death of the king, and struggles to establish a new king within 24 hours. Part 1, episodes 1-4, will be released on the 29th, and Part 2, episodes 5-8, will be released on September 12th.
