Gangwon-do is currently hosting the 23rd National Winter Sports Games for the Disabled, and on January 29th, the third day of competition, the jeonbuk Self-governing Province team secured a bronze medal, elevating their overall ranking to fifth.

Lee Do-yeon Secures Bronze in Cross-country Skiing

Jeonbuk’s Lee Do-yeon demonstrated remarkable skill in the women’s cross-country skiing (retarded/seated) 3km event, claiming third place with a time of 16 minutes 59.80 seconds. Lee Do-yeon is scheduled to compete again in the cross-country skiing 4km competition at 10 a.m. on January 30th.

Other Jeonbuk athletes also made their mark on the competition. Nam da-young finished fifth in the women’s alpine skiing giant slalom (auditory), while Kwon Hyo-seok placed eighth in the men’s giant slalom (retarded/sitting).

The Jeonbuk Ice Hockey team continued their dominant performance, defeating Daegu 11:0 in the quarterfinals on January 28th. they followed up with another decisive victory, beating gyeonggi Province 9:0 in the semifinals on the same day, securing their place in the finals.

The ice hockey team now faces a challenging match against Gangwon-do, the defending champions, in the final at 12:20 on January 30th.

The Jeonbuk wheelchair curling team experienced a mixed day. They won 9:3 against Gwangju on January 28th but were defeated by Gyeongnam in the quarterfinals later that day.

Ultimately,the jeonbuk wheelchair curling team finished in third place after their match against Gyeongnam on January 29th.
