Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province and Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province have joined hands to promote the Hometown Love Donation System. Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province participated in the “2nd Korea Hometown Love Donation Expo” held at Suwon Convention Center for three days from the 16th to the 18th and began mutual promotion with Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province to establish the Hometown Love Donation System.
On July 11, Jeonbuk Autonomous Province and Gangwon Autonomous Province signed a mutual cooperation agreement to resolve common issues and develop together, and emphasized mutual promotion of the Hometown Love Donation System as a measure to enhance the status of the region and achieve balanced regional development.
Accordingly, Jeonbuk Autonomous Province participated in the Hometown Love Donation Fair and actively promoted the Hometown Love Donation System and regional representative gift items to visitors by cross-promoting the system and gift items with Gangwon Autonomous Province and holding a quiz event.
The Jeonbuk Promotion Center exhibited 24 representative provincial gifts from the agricultural, livestock, and marine products, processed foods, handicrafts, and tourism and experience sectors, and provided tasting opportunities so that visitors could experience the gifts directly, delighting the eyes and mouths of visitors.
The Jeonbuk Autonomous Province additionally provided the popular gift item, Siplihyang (rice), to on-site donors, drawing much attention from visitors from the metropolitan area who attended the expo.
Na Hae-su, Director of the Jeonbuk Provincial Office of International Communication, said, “The promotional activities with Gangwon Province have been a valuable opportunity to raise awareness of the Hometown Love Donation System and to shed new light on the value of representative local gifts.” He added, “We will continue to do our best to promote the Hometown Love Donation System based on our ongoing cooperative relationship and to contribute to regional development and the welfare of residents.”
He added, “I ask for the participation and interest of many residents and expatriates in the hometown love donation that can breathe life into the hometown that is on the verge of extinction and contribute to economic revitalization.”
Meanwhile, Jeonbuk Autonomous Province is providing return gifts (89 items) that reflect donors’ preferences and healthy consumption trends through Hometown Love e-eum.
In addition, in celebration of the upcoming Hometown Love Day (September 4th), we plan to provide opportunities for donors to participate in music broadcasts (KBS Music Stage, etc.), cultural performances, local tours, and rural experiences to express our gratitude and take the lead in spreading the culture of hometown love donations.
