The Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province is making efforts to minimize damage to small and medium-sized businesses in the province due to the Timon and WeMakePrice incident. The Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province is closely examining the damage situation by utilizing the 1 Company 1 Public Official system to minimize damage to small and medium-sized businesses in the province that have entered online platforms related to the spread of the delay in payment settlement for sellers of Quten Group (Timon, WeMakePrice).

The Jeonbuk Autonomous Province is currently in the process of identifying the status of unpaid damages through direct telephone consultations and on-site investigations targeting small and medium-sized businesses in the province that have entered Timon and WeMakePrice since the 25th.

In addition, we are actively monitoring through the SME Comprehensive Support System, Kakao Channel (Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Economic and Trade Promotion Agency), and the 1 Company-1 Civil Servant system.

The Jeonbuk Autonomous Province and the Economic Promotion Agency are currently investigating damages related to unpaid bills for small and medium-sized enterprises in the province that have stores at 164 Timon and 235 WeMakePrice, and are currently trying to determine the expected amount of damage based on payment settlement status and sales by July.

We were in the process of signing an agreement with Timon and SMEs to support online platform sales, but the promotion has currently been suspended, and the promotion scheduled with WeMakePrice has been temporarily suspended.

The online platform support project in the second half of the year, which was originally scheduled to be carried out with Timon and WeMakePrice, will be carried out through other platforms (Gmarket, Auction, 11st, etc.).

We plan to focus on providing financial support such as emergency management stabilization funds and maturity extensions to small and medium-sized businesses affected by the Timon WeMakePrice incident, depending on the scale of damage. We also plan to provide consulting support for damage relief lawsuits when lawsuits related to unpaid balances are filed in the future.

In addition, in order to provide prompt consumer damage relief, we are receiving damage cases through the 1372 complaint reception window, counseling center, and group dispute mediation applications, and we plan to focus on providing prompt refund processing and damage relief support.

Song Ju-seop, head of the Jeonbuk Provincial Enterprise Difficulty Resolution Division, said, “In order to minimize damage to small and medium-sized businesses in the province related to the Timon WeMakePrice incident, we plan to continuously monitor and provide financial support such as emergency management stabilization funds. We will also make various efforts to relieve damage to consumers.”
