The Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province is joining hands with the Federation of Korean Chambers of Commerce in the Americas to expand global economic exchanges. On the 29th, the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province (Governor Kim Kwan-young) held a meeting with the Federation of Korean Chambers of Commerce in the Americas (Chairman Lee Kyung-chul, hereinafter referred to as the Federation) to strengthen the network between the two organizations and seek cooperation measures for entering the global economic market.

The two organizations have maintained a close cooperative relationship through mutual visits and business consultations since the signing of a business agreement during the visit of the General Assembly of the Korean American Federation to Jeollabuk-do in November 2022.

At this meeting, we shared our past achievements and discussed future collaboration plans, and promised to more actively support Jeonbuk companies’ entry into the U.S. market.

The Federation of Korean Business Associations in the Americas announced that the 22nd World Korean Business Convention to be held in Jeonju in October will be attended by the largest number of participants ever, approximately 200 people. It is expected that this will strengthen Jeonbuk’s global status and expand networking opportunities for participating companies.

In addition, the Korea-US Federation visited the Jeonju Chamber of Commerce and Industry and had a meeting with local businesspeople to discuss ways to expand economic exchange and mutual cooperation.

In particular, the two organizations agreed to strengthen cooperation in the economic and trade sectors, creating an opportunity to expand the network between Jeonbuk Province and the Federation of Korean Associations in the Americas to the private sector.

Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Governor Kim Kwan-young said, “We will make various efforts to develop the Jeonbuk economy, such as expanding exports to the U.S., attracting investment, and building a global network through close cooperation with the Federation of Korean Chambers of Commerce in the Americas.”

The Federation of Korean Chambers of Commerce in the Americas is a non-profit economic organization comprised of 78 regional chambers of commerce in the Americas. It represents the interests of 300,000 Korean small business owners across the United States and supports Korean compatriots’ businesses and Korean import/export companies to advance into the United States.
