On the 21st, Jeonbuk Autonomous Province held the opening ceremony of the Jeonbuk welfare resource platform ‘Jeonbuk People Welfare’ in the conference room of the provincial government building with approximately 200 people in attendance, including Governor Kim Kwan-young, Provincial Council Chairman Moon Seung-woo, Agriculture, Welfare and Environment Committee Chairman Lim Seung-sik, city and county vice-governors, experts in each field (IT, welfare), and related public officials.
Prior to the opening ceremony, a forum was held on the topic of ‘Direction and tasks of establishing a Jeonbuk-type care system.’
Since November of last year, the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province has been building a user-centered Jeonbuk welfare resource integration platform as part of the 8th local government election pledge.
The platform brings together information on welfare projects, welfare facilities, and resources promoted by the central government, Jeonbuk Autonomous Province, and 14 cities and counties in one place, allowing residents to easily find various welfare benefits and necessary welfare information.
In addition to simply providing information, it also has functions and roles to increase the welfare awareness of residents by comprehensively supporting welfare services within the province, such as requests for help, counseling, and care linkage.
Through the Jeonbuk Welfare Resource Platform, a customized welfare information search service is provided for residents, allowing them to check at a glance the necessary information, from the details of various welfare benefits scattered throughout the province to support methods.
The Jeonbuk Autonomous Province expects that this will increase the efficiency of welfare policies and make it easier for residents of the province to access welfare services, which have been difficult to use in a timely manner due to frequent changes in welfare systems and lack of information accessibility despite the various welfare resources and services of the province and each city and county.
Meanwhile, the official name of the Jeonbuk Welfare Resource Platform was decided upon through a public contest and vote held by residents in April, and was set as ‘Jeonbuk People’s Welfare’, meaning that all of Jeonbuk’s welfare is contained (in) so that all residents of the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province are happy.
Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Governor Kim Kwan-young said, “I expect that citizens will be able to access welfare information more easily through a platform that provides welfare resources and service information that are currently scattered,” and “We will continue to do our best to discover and promote various welfare policies to ensure the strong happiness and welfare of citizens.”
