Presidential Chief of Staff Jeong Jin-seok and National Security Office Director Shin Won-sik will appear before the investigative agency on the 30th as a defendant and witness, respectively, in relation to the martial law situation. Accordingly, he will not appear at the National Assembly Steering Committee’s inquiry on pending issues scheduled for the same day.
According to the National Assembly on the 28th, Director Chung and Director Shin of the National Security Office submitted a written statement explaining their absence from the Steering Committee, stating that they were unable to attend the Steering Committee’s inquiry on pending issues, saying, “We received notice of attendance from the investigative agency on the 30th.”
According to the reason for non-appearance, Director Jeong is scheduled to appear before the investigative agency on the 30th as a defendant, and Director Shin Shin as a witness.
