The blogger acknowledges the facts, but believes that it was an “exchange of good practices”. The prosecution requested on Tuesday three months’ imprisonment with a two-year probationary sentence against the influencer Jeremstar, star of social networks, tried by the Paris court for “concealed work” following a complaint from a former collaborator. The decision was reserved for October 17.

For the prosecutor, the offense is well characterized, as is the relationship of subordination between the defendant and the complainant. “Undeclared work is not a trivial offence. It is an attack on the rights of workers to the detriment of the employee, ”she insisted. She also demanded a fine of 5,000 euros for the defendant.

During his hearing, the columnist / blogger specializing in reality TV admitted without difficulty that he had never paid his ex-collaborator, the photographer Bruno Etenna, who claims for his part to have produced more than 220 videos, between 2012 and 2017, for Jeremstar, Jérémy Gisclon of his real name.

“Money comes to rot everything”

“It was an exchange of good practices,” said the 36-year-old influencer, white T-shirt and pale blue jeans, at the helm. “I was his friend. I brought him notoriety, visibility, ”he insists. “There was never any question of us working together.”

If he recognizes that Bruno Etenna was “present on many videos”, it was “not on all”, he says. “Should a service be remunerated? asks his lawyer, Me Margaux Nègre-Carillon. ” No ! Money comes to rot everything, ”replies Jeremstar.

Me Jérémy Kalfon, Bruno Etenna’s lawyer, is surprised. “Mr. Gisclon behaved like an employer and Mr. Etenna was an employee,” he said. “It was not an activity for me, it was fun”, defends the influencer who became known in particular for his interviews carried out in a bathtub and became a star of social networks followed by many fans.

Very popular on Snapchat, he has more than 2 million subscribers on Instagram, 1.7 million on X (ex-Twitter) and 1.4 million on YouTube. His production company, created in 2015, achieved a turnover of 860,000 euros one year after its creation. “I’ve always respected the people I’ve worked with,” says the influencer.

He claims to be the victim of a cyberbullying campaign after being splashed in 2018 by a complaint for rape of a minor, finally dismissed and without any offense brought against him. According to him, his ex-friend was “manipulated” by people who were hostile to him.
