The Jerusalem Municipality illuminated the walls of the Old City with Russian and Ukrainian flags alongside the phrase “Waiting for you,” and “Making peace in its heights.” The Jerusalem Municipality announced tonight (Sunday) that Jerusalem, the capital of the State of Israel, is a city of peace and coexistence. “We are in favor of stopping the fighting and reaching an understanding between the parties.”

Yesterday, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zlansky presented a possibility for negotiations between his country and Russia to be held in Jerusalem.

Zalanski added yesterday: “Regarding Prime Minister Bennett – we in principle, and I personally, take a positive view of everyone’s help in the negotiations. However, I do not refer to Mr Bennett as ‘anyone’, because I think he has the ability to play a role. “It is important. Because Israel can certainly play such a role (to host the talks) and especially Jerusalem. I think so, and I said that to Mr. Bennett.”

Last night, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and the President of Ukraine spoke once again. The conversation, which lasted more than an hour, dealt with ways to end the fighting in Ukraine and the efforts that Israel is making on the matter. Zalansky wrote on his Twitter account: “We talked about Russian aggression and the prospects for peace talks.”
