Jerusalem: The father caused the death of his toddler daughter in the hospital

East Jerusalem: A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of causing the death of his two-month-old daughter in 2014. The suspect’s detention was extended by eight days

The Israel Police today (Monday) arrested a suspect from East Jerusalem, in his 30s, on suspicion that eight years ago he caused the death of his toddler daughter.

The suspect was arrested as part of an investigation being conducted in the Jerusalem district, and after his arrest, he was questioned by the police on suspicion of causing death, abuse of a person in charge of a minor and other offenses.

According to police, in 2014 the inmate arrived with his two-month-old daughter at the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The suspect, a resident of East Jerusalem, is currently serving a 27-month prison sentence for the offenses of aggravated assault on a family member, assault of a helpless person, causing injury to a person in charge and assaulting a spouse.

The suspect was brought to court in the course of the day and his detention was extended by eight days, until next Monday.
