Singer Pastor Lucas published a message of support for Jessé Aguiar in the comments of the publication that the former gospel singer assumed his homosexuality and stated that being heterosexual does not make him better and that he continues “in need of the grace and mercy of God”.
Jessé Aguiar’s positioning has been causing a stir on social networks since last Sunday, even more so due to the former gospel singer’s aggressive stance against a publication by Pastor André Valadão about God’s rejection of “pride”.
In Instagram Stories, Jessé shared a print of a comment from Pastor Lucas: “My dear…. I love your life, your songs and that’s what matters. I’m straight and that doesn’t make me better or different, because I still don’t deserve God’s love”.
“If I were gay, that wouldn’t make me better or worse either, because I would still need God’s grace and mercy!”, added the artist, famous for his compositions interpreted by several names in gospel music.
At the end of the message, Pastor Lucas made a controversial statement, saying that even though Jessé Aguiar had “proud to be gay” – as stated by the artist in his Instagram post – this has no impact on his salvation:
“Always leave a place in your heart for the author of your life! The name Jesse Aguiar is engraved in the palm of God’s hands! There is no religion in the world that can erase this! So always be sensitive to the voice of the Holy Spirit and that’s it! He will help you walk, He will help you make decisions! God bless you friend!”, he finished.
