Noticias Caracol has had a young woman from Bogotá reporting the news of the capital for a year and a half. Her face has become very familiar to viewers and followers of the news program, which has been the most-watched on national open television for years.
In its various broadcasts, Noticias Caracol reveals the most relevant news of the day in Bogotá through its journalist Jessica Tovar. Previously, Tovar was in charge of entertainment news, and as a result, her segments were a regular feature in the section known as ‘Show Caracol.’

Now Jessica has decided to resign from her position as a journalist for the news program, and although it is a decision she has been contemplating, she admitted to Vea that it has cost her many tears, due to the farewell words from her boss Juan Roberto Vargas and colleagues, who not only wish her the best but have also recognized her work.
Jessica will work until September 15 in the news program

Jessica Tovar from ‘Noticias Caracol’ is newly married
Jessica explained to Vea that she has been working for six years with dedication and is “very grateful for the opportunity they gave me. I have been blessed,” but she is also seeking the chance to have weekends off. In the news program, she covered information from Thursday to Monday. This wouldn’t be a problem if she weren’t newly married.
Jessica got married to industrial engineer Julián Pérez last December, and for that reason, she was looking for a job opportunity that would allow her to have the same days off as her husband. “The thing is, we got married after 12 years of dating, so he has been waiting for my weekends for a long time. It’s a family decision, although it has been very hard for me,” said the graduate communicator from the Politecnico, who before Noticias Caracol was part of Séptimo Día.
However, Jessica will not be distancing herself from Caracol as a company. Her new job destination is the Communications office of the channel, where she will have a schedule that includes weekends off, which excites both her and her husband Julián.
For the moment, the journalist does not have plans to become a mother, but instead to start a specialization in Corporate Communication. She will be in the news program until September 15.
