Jesto, Roman Rapper, Dies at 40 Following Sudden Heart Attack; Family Criticizes Premature Reports
A family member has publicly expressed dismay over reports of Roman rapper Jesto’s death circulating before an official proclamation, criticizing the rush to publish unconfirmed facts. The artist, whose real name is Justin Rossi Yamanouchi, passed away on the evening of July 31st due to a sudden and unexpected cardiac event.
The news was initially shared via Instagram by Hyst, Jesto’s brother, and the artist’s music team. According to Taiyo Yamaouchi,as Hyst is also known, the cause of death was a “blow to the heart, totally unexpected and unpredictable,” especially given Jesto’s healthy lifestyle. Yamaouchi emphasized his brother’s dedication to nutrition, physical fitness, intellectual pursuits, and burgeoning new projects.
The dissemination of the news was quickly followed by controversy, as unconfirmed reports began to spread. Hyst explained on social media that the delay in a public statement stemmed from a desire to ensure the accuracy of the information. “Unfortunately, based on voices not confirmed by family members who deemed themselves able to disseminate information before me, others have relaunched by adding othre non-exact information,” he wrote.
The criticism appears directed, in part, at Italian rapper Fedez, who reportedly acknowledged Jesto’s passing on Instagram Stories prior to the official family announcement. “I consider this highly disrespectful behavior,” Yamaouchi stated. “Although I understand the era of interaction in which we live, it was not challenging to look at my profile and see that there had not been an official communication.” He further added, “While taking into account the affectionate and respectful tone of the externation, I know there was no need to be the first at all costs. Others have relaunched, creating at least surreal associations of which I beg you don’t take into account.” Any further communication, he affirmed, would come directly from him in coordination with Jesto’s closest collaborators and friends.
In his Instagram post, Hyst also expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support and shared a heartfelt remembrance of his brother. “I can’t say that I am surprised by the love you transmit to us as I am fully aware of the impact that Justin has had in our lives. We all were very privileged.”
