Being sure of what God defines as your own identity is something that American Donovan Archie took years to understand and achieve. Instead, he spent part of his life trying to find himself on the wrong path, following doctrines such as Islam and the ideology of the LGBT+ movement.

That’s because Archie said he tried to find his identity on his own, seeking to find happiness through a systemic, or religious, view of what God means. The result was a disaster!

“I found no satisfaction. There was no deep feeling or deep conviction about who God was as I practiced Islam as a gay man,” he said in a testimonial posted on the Delafé Testimonies YouTube channel.

What Archie didn’t know, however, was that God loved him so much that He was already providing a way for him to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and then finally have the opportunity to understand that the Christian life is not about a rite based on human doctrines, much less on ideology, but on a transforming understanding of the very meaning of life.

the change

Still following the LGBT+ behavioral agenda and Islamic doctrine, Archie entered the University and started to act as a dancer. One day, he received an invitation to participate in an event at a church, where he was supposed to dance.

“I told them, ‘Don’t expect me to become a Christian.’ Because at that time I identified as Muslim and I had struggles with my identity and sexuality,” he recalls. “I didn’t want them to preach or pray for me. I just wanted to go out there and dance.”

Even reluctant, despite continuing with the lost identity, Archie heard the preaching that day, until one day, in the University dormitory, he had a supernatural experience with God through a dream.

“In the dream, I’m sleeping, but I’m waking up and fighting for my life,” he said. “And there are loud noises coming out. There are sirens blaring. I remember trying to call my best friends, trying to call my mom, my dad – all the people I thought could provide help at the time. I tried calling a spiritual leader, an imam, and the phone melted in my hand.”

The desire to ask for help, however, was directed at the wrong people, and that’s what Archie ended up understanding in his dream, because he began to cry out in the name of Jesus.

“Oh, I remember having no choice but to invoke the name of Jesus”, he said, recalling that at the time “immediately that fortress was broken”. That is, he found himself freed from sinful desires and spiritual blindness.

“I turn on my light and throw my hands up and say, ‘God, you did it. Whatever you wanted to do with me, you did it,'” said the now-ex-Muslim and former member of the LGBT+ community. watch (in English):
