Robbers Loot Jewellery Shop in South Delhi, Worth Rs 25 Crore Stolen
New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a jewellery shop in the Pogal area of South Delhi was looted by unidentified robbers. The incident came to light when the owner of Umrao Jewellers opened the shop on Monday morning after the weekend holiday.
The owner was left astonished to discover that the entire showroom and locker room had been ransacked and the jewellery was missing. The shop had been locked as usual on Sunday evening, but it seems the robbers managed to break in during the night.
The authorities were immediately informed and police rushed to the spot to assess the situation. Forensic experts were called in to collect crucial clues that may lead to the identification of the culprits.
According to preliminary investigations, it is believed that the robbers gained entry through the top floor of the four-storey building. From there, they made their way to the ground floor locker room and successfully looted the jewellery. Afterward, they went on to steal additional pieces from the showroom.
The stolen jewellery is estimated to be worth approximately Rs 25 crore. The robbers seemed to have planned the heist meticulously as they had already disabled the surveillance cameras before executing the robbery. This has made it difficult for the police to identify the suspects.
An investigation has been launched to apprehend the culprits and recover the stolen jewellery. The police are currently analyzing the collected evidence and are exploring all possible leads to ensure that justice is served.
Such incidents of high-value thefts raise concerns about the security of business establishments in the area. It is hoped that enhanced measures will be taken to prevent such incidents in the future and ensure the safety of businesses and their assets.
