The doctor filed a lawsuit in 2018 alleging harassment due to anti-Semitism, and the hospital fired him afterwards, even though he is known to be an excellent doctor. The Shimon Wiesenter Center, which originated in Los Angeles and has set itself the goal of protecting all Jews in the world wherever they are, included Karolinska University Hospital in the list of the 10 worst cases of anti-Semitism in 2018 amid the harassment of the three Jewish doctors.
